Feel it.
Keep it.
Chasing light across the world, one frame at a time.
Back in the 90's, 15 yo maybe with absolutely no idea what I was doing, I picked up my parents' old Nikkormat, a film camera, a few good lenses, and a self-timer so old-school you had to wind it by hand. A few holiday snapshots turned into a habit, then an obsession.
Eventually I got my own cameras and a couple of lenses, and tried a bit of everything. Some of those early experiments are still sitting in the gallery.
But landscapes were what I kept coming back to: places I'd never seen before, new colours, and the strange light you can only find far from home.
Every trip since has been part looking for a good shot, part excuse to see somewhere new, camera in hand, chasing whatever lights show up.
Some shots are grainy, out of focus, most are low-res, on purpose(-ish), some are a month old, some 20 years, rescued from a hard drive or an old FB post when the drive itself didn't make it, and a few still have the very old watermark.. :)
Technique is something you pick up on the way, knowing when it's the right time, before it's too late, isn't always. I'd rather have the honest photo of something real than the perfect photo of something staged.
